The perfect Easter cookie shape - keep reading to find out how to make your own

You know that feeling when you are dreaming of the perfect cookie shape, but can't find a cutter to match your vision? Easter is always tricky especially because most of the cookie cutter options are egg-shaped and completely lacking imagination.

I spent this past week on the East Coast, where in between early mornings, late nights, and a ton of meetings, I managed to catch the most beautiful sunset ...

A heart-shaped sky from Boston...
as well as discover an  Ultimaker 2-go 3-D printer, tucked away in the Cambridge office!

With a machine like this, ANYTHING is possible. Including the perfect Easter cookie shape.

With some trouble-shooting, I managed to get this little guy printed - and as soon as I got home and started to cut out the dough - found it to be playable, durable, and just as easy to clean as easy to cut.

Perfect cut!

The new classic of bunny shapes

Carrot and leaf embellishments are optional

Here is the cookie recipe, my secret is to use just a little bit of coconut flour.

1 cup all-purpose flour + 1 cup coconut flour, plus more coconut flour for rolling
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Candy eyeballs for decorating (optional)

ICING
Store-bought (confession) icing in a tube for line precision

Cute or creepy ... I can't quite decide! Let me know what you think and what cookie-cutter ideas you can come up with. (Let's get them printed out!)

Have a great week everyone.

XO Julia
