Gray Matter

November 19, 2014

As I anticipate the upcoming grays in the winter sky, I find that I'm really looking forward to it. After all, a little bit of moodiness is not a not a bad thing. It's great for creative inspiration. Did you know, the human eye can distinguish about 500 shades of gray?

This past week, I looked in my closet and saw how much gray I have! So naturally, I decided to try wearing it all at once.

If you're looking for a quick, polished outfit to get you through the work day, keep monochromatic in mind. Here are some fun facts about gray:

Gray is the color of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. It is perceived as long-lasting, classic, and often as sleek or refined. It is a color that is dignified, conservative, and carries authority.
Gray is controlled and inconspicuous and is considered a color of compromise, perhaps because it sits between the extremes of black and white. Gray is a perfect neutral, which is why designers often use it as a background color.
Gray is said to both unsettle us, while at the same time create expectations.

Hope you're having a great week everyone, tonight I'll be at the Makers Market at Westfield Mall supporting some fellow bloggerettes and checking out the handcrafted goodies. See you there!

XO - Julia
